Operational Hours

Salazar Veterinary Hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

We are often asked if we will ever offer weekend hours and the answer is “No!”.

We are firm believers that we are our best when we have two full days off in a row to recharge. We also believe in spending time with family and friends and being present for life events, and maintaining weekend office hours does not leave room for these things to be possible.

Since making the transition to weekdays-only, we have noticed huge improvements in our operation — our team is happier, our team’s mental health has improved, and we have been able to recruit higher quality job applicants. We take our responsibility to the pets and pet owners in our community seriously, and we believe the key to providing excellent care is by having employees who love their job and are passionate about what they do.

Since we have condensed our operational hours, we have started offering more “drop off” appointments to accommodate pet owners who work traditional 9-5 jobs, as well as same-day emergencies or urgent concerns.

Here is what you can expect when you schedule a drop-off appointment with us:

  • Arrive with your pet between 8am and 9am.
  • Our receptionist or a technician will ask a series of questions regarding your concerns and your pet’s overall health.
  • Your pet will stay with us in a kennel for the day (you can bring bedding or toys for your pet, if you like, as well as food).
  • Dogs are walked several times throughout the day and water is provided; cats are given a litter box and water is provided.
  • Once the doctor has done a physical exam on your pet, one of our technicians will call with the doctor’s recommendations and an estimated cost of services
  • We will complete all approved recommendations, then give you another call or text to set up a pick-up time.
  • Pick-uptimes are often between 5pm and 6pm, but can be earlier; we work with your schedule and find a time when we can review your pet’s diagnosis, answer questions, and review medications/at-home care in person.

To make an appointment, you can call or text us at (407) 807-6611.
